Freezie Friday & Hat Dayhttp://cod.scdsb.on.ca/about-us/news/school-news/116Freezie Friday & Hat Day<p>Don’t forget Friday is hat day - as a fundraiser for our Terry Fox campaign, wear your favourite hat all day at school for just 50 cents! <br></p><p>Also, enjoy a Freezie on Friday for just $1 for a whole Freezie, or 50 cents for a half.  <br></p><p>Student verification forms, and a number of important forms will be coming home with students on Tuesday.  Please ensure you fill them out and return them with your child to their teachers.  <br></p><p>Don’t forget Thursday is our Meet the Teacher night at school! <br></p>
Upcoming Events!http://cod.scdsb.on.ca/about-us/news/school-news/115Upcoming Events!<p>​It's only our second week of school, and we're off to a busy but spectacular start!  Here's what's happening around the school already!<br></p><p>Tomorrow is our first of two <span class="ms-rteForeColor-8" style=""><span style="">Spirit Days!</span> </span> This Friday and next Friday are hat days!  Students are permitted to wear their favourite (or craziest/funniest/whackiest) hat.  As a fundraiser for our Terry Fox Run, we are asking for 50 cents (or $1 for both days) to wear your hat all day in school!<br></p><p><span style="color:#990099;"><span style="color:#990099;">Freezie Fridays</span></span> have returned (just in time for this beautiful summer weather)!  Freezies are available this fall on Fridays during second nutrition break until further notice.  Freezies are $1 each or 50 cents for half a freezie.  All proceeds are going to the Global Action team charity initiatives.<br></p><p><span class="ms-rteThemeForeColor-9-0" style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Terry Fox </strong></span>- our school is running our <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Terry Fox Run Thursday September 27th at 1:40pm</span>.  We are asking students to donate a toonie for Terry, but any amount is greatly appreciated.  <br>If you're interested in purchasing this year's tshirt, order forms went home with students earlier in the week.  <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Tshirts</span> come in various sizes (children in 6 and 10X, adults in S,M,L,XL) and orders are due on Monday September 17th!  All proceeds go directly to the Terry Fox Foundation.<br></p><p><span style="color:#009900;"><span style="color:#009900;">Meet the Teacher</span></span> is Thursday, September 27th from 4-6pm.  Pizza and drinks will be available for purchase, along with a chance to meet your child's teacher and tour their classroom.  Further information will come home in the newsletter, so stay tuned!<br></p><p><br></p>
‘Bus Tag’ program helps students get to and from school safelyhttp://cod.scdsb.on.ca/about-us/news/board-news/18‘Bus Tag’ program helps students get to and from school safely<p>​</p><p>The Simcoe County Student Transportation Consortium (SCSTC) launched the Bus Tag<strong> </strong>program this September.<strong> </strong>The Bus Tag program supports safety for JK/SK and other school-identified students by<strong> </strong>providing a process to match students to their assigned afternoon school bus and to also<strong> </strong>identify they must be met by a parent or guardian at their afternoon bus stop.</p><p>The program provides:</p><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li>a colour coded bus tag with the assigned p.m. route number to be attached to the student's backpack</li><li>a colour-coded route card with route number in the windows of the school bus that the Bus Tag is matched to</li></ul><p>The SCSTC and Bus Operators have policies and procedures that are used on all school vehicles to ensure students in JK/SK and other school identified students are met at their afternoon bus stop.  It's the parent/guardian's responsibility to meet Junior Kindergarten, Senior Kindergarten and other identified students at the bus stop .The Bus Tag program has been established to assist both the schools and school bus drivers to load these students on the correct afternoon bus and identify they are to be met at their bus stop by a parent/guardian. Pay for field trips, lunch days, etc. with SchoolCash Onlinehttp://cod.scdsb.on.ca/about-us/news/board-news/19Pay for field trips, lunch days, etc. with SchoolCash Online<p>​</p><p>The SchoolCash Online program is now available at all schools, offering parents the option to pay online for field trips, lunch days and other items. The program is intended to reduce paper, eliminate the need for students to travel with money, and for money to be counted and stored at schools.<strong>  </strong>Payment by credit card has now also been added. </p><p>Parents who sign up will receive a notification when a new item becomes available for purchase.
